Butter! Butter! Butter!

Earlier this week I put a teaser up about butter. Here it is! The finished product. You will probably never buy butter at the store again. This is so easy and can be customized to your liking. I made some with chunks of garlic for my mom( she's a garlic freak, no joke). I have done this and will blog it for you but I got the idea from a site called The Hungry Mouse. Check it out. I'm a very visual learner and this site takes you through cooking with pictures! Its fantastic!

All you need is heavy whipping cream, a stand up mixer and salt.
Pour the heavy whipping cream in your mixer. Did I mention yet that I love my mixer? :)
You will need the splash guard!

I still put a towel over it, because even the splash guard didn't keep the splashies in.

Turn the mixer to a med speed and let it rip! Mine goes for about 10-15 mins before it needs to look like this.
Kinda looks like ricotta cheese. Its a yellow color and you will notice that it will start to separate. If you start to get some more splashes then its time to turn it off.
This is the fun part! Now you get to squish all the extra liquid out! You will need a bowl underneath to catch it of course. I was the kid who liked to squish her toes in the mud. So this perfect for me. Keep squishing until you dont think there is any liquid left.
(Sorry the picture is blurry!)
It should look like this! Guess what?! Its butter! woot!

Now to add the salt. I only use 1/2 teaspoon. Put your butter in a different bowl and knead in the salt. You can use a spatula or you can use your hands.

Your all done! The only thing I have found is that it can get kinda hard in the fridge. So if you want it on toast or want to use it as a spread make sure you take it out in plenty of time so it has time to soften.

I hope you enjoy this! I am still looking for more things to put butter on! The more the merrier!
Have fun and be crafty!
